December 2022 Meeting
BELUG: Supporting Linux and open source for 18+ years.
We have resumed our meetings at the North Bellevue Community Center and we are on Zoom. The community center address is:
North Bellevue Community Center
4063 148th Ave NE
Bellevue, WA. 98007.
The meeting start time has changed to 6:30pm to accommodate the community center building hours. Please come early to help set up the room.
The meeting will follow our normal format with introductions all around, and asking if anyone has technical questions for the group, then Randy may present a video about the Linux command line. The CLI is always a good meeting topic.
I (Steve) want to ask for your list of your primary Linux distribution and other important tools, such as Ventoy. I plan to put links to these on the BELUG web site.
Last month we discussed new RISC-V single board computers where the CPU design is open source:

Continuing the hardware theme, we discussed the Framework laptop where the hardware is made to be upgraded by the user:
I brought in my 1997 IBM Model M keyboard with a Soarer's UAB converter that supports keyboard mapping. Other USB converters would not connect reliably. It is nice to have a good mechanical keyboard working again:
