November 2022 Meeting

BELUG: Supporting Linux and open source for 18+ years.

We have resumed our meetings at the North Bellevue Community Center and we are on Zoom. The community center address is:

North Bellevue Community Center
4063 148th Ave NE
Bellevue, WA. 98007.

The meeting start time has changed to 6:30pm to accommodate the community center building hours. Please come early to help set up the room.

This month Randy will lead off the meeting by showing a video about the Linux command line. The CLI is always a good meeting topic.

Last month we had some new people join our meeting and it was interesting to hear their Linux experience. We also discussed these topics and others:

Kevin give a presentation about setting up a Homeserver/SMB server with UCS+Nextcloud, which he used to share bookmarks across multiple computers and he touched on docker images. Resources:

Randy had an update on Nala (a commandline front end for the apt package manager), and mentioned Lure, a package that lets you install Arch AUR packages on other distribution. Rohr mentioned another AUR frontend, Pacstall, that sounds interesting. Resources:

Thank you everyone for an interesting meeting. Hope to see you Tuesday.
